Terms of Service

The terms that govern accounts, AI-assisted creation, subscriptions and Credits, and use of Figran.

Last updated: 2026-10-05

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Figran, including our website, accounts, AI-assisted scientific illustration tools, generated outputs, subscriptions and Credits, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account, placing an order, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

Version: 2026-10-05. Effective date: October 5, 2026. Website: figran.net.

Eligibility and Authority

You must have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you use Figran for an employer, school, laboratory, institution, or other organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf.

If you are not legally able to enter into these Terms on your own, a parent, guardian, or authorized institution must approve and supervise your use. Figran is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required by local law.

Accounts and Security

You must provide accurate account information and keep it current. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for activity conducted through your account. Do not share credentials or allow unauthorized access. Notify us promptly at support@figran.net if you believe your account has been compromised.

We may reject registrations, require verification, or limit access when reasonably necessary to protect the Service, comply with law, or prevent abuse.

The Service

Figran is an online software-as-a-service (SaaS) product for scientific illustrations, editable Flowcharts, and data Plots. It is a digital service; no physical goods are shipped. Paid access and Credits are applied to your account after our payment provider confirms successful payment. If payment succeeds but access does not appear, contact support with your order identifier.

Figran helps users plan and create scientific illustrations and related visual material. Features may include prompt-based generation, reference-image guidance, editable planning tools, multiple output qualities, file export, account history, and Credit-based access.

We may add, modify, limit, suspend, or discontinue features. We do not guarantee that every feature, provider, model, format, or output quality will remain available. We will use reasonable efforts to avoid material disruption, but maintenance, provider outages, security events, and other circumstances may affect availability.

Eligible signed-in accounts can create and edit vector Flowcharts and Plots and export SVG without an image-generation Credit charge. Free features may require an invitation or other account eligibility displayed in the Service. Canvas image layers and editable PPTX exports require Pro, Ultimate, or Max. AI assistance uses a separate allowance shown in the workspace. An AI-generated image remains a raster layer inside an SVG or PPTX; its internal labels and objects are not automatically separated into editable shapes.

User Content

You retain the rights you already hold in prompts, research descriptions, reference files, feedback, and other material you submit ("User Content"). You must have all rights and permissions needed to submit User Content and to allow it to be processed as described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

You grant Figran a worldwide, non-exclusive, limited license to host, copy, transmit, transform, and otherwise process User Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, and provide the Service, comply with law, and enforce these Terms. This license ends when the relevant content is deleted from active systems, subject to reasonable backup, security, legal, and recordkeeping retention.

Do not submit patient identifiers, regulated health information, access credentials, confidential unpublished findings, or other confidential or regulated information unless you have independently determined that the Service and every relevant provider are appropriate and legally authorized for that use. Figran is not offered as a system designed for clinical records or regulated health data.

Figran does not use your prompts, reference files, or outputs to train its own AI models. This is not a promise that every independent AI provider offers zero retention or the same training policy; see AI processing and provider disclosures before submitting content.

Generated Outputs

As between you and Figran, you retain your rights in your inputs and own any rights in the outputs that applicable law allows you to hold. Figran assigns to you any rights it may have in outputs generated specifically for you, to the extent those rights are transferable. This does not transfer our software, branding, or other users' content.

Subject to these Terms and applicable law, you may use outputs generated for you by the Service for personal, academic, or commercial purposes, whether they were generated with purchased, free, or promotional Credits. This permission does not grant rights that Figran or its providers do not have and does not override applicable law, third-party rights, or provider-specific terms. You are responsible for determining whether an output may be used, published, licensed, or registered in your jurisdiction and context.

AI-generated material may be inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, non-unique, or similar to material generated for others. Figran does not promise that an output is original, copyrightable, free of third-party rights, or suitable for a specific publisher, journal, classroom, clinical setting, or regulatory submission.

Scientific and Professional Responsibility

Figran is a visual communication tool, not a scientific authority, peer reviewer, medical device, diagnostic service, legal adviser, or substitute for professional judgment.

You are responsible for reviewing every label, relationship, mechanism, claim, citation, scale, sequence, and visual inference before relying on or publishing an output. You must obtain any required ethics, institutional, publisher, patient, participant, or third-party approvals.

Acceptable Use

Our AI Acceptable Use Policy applies to your prompts, reference files, generated content, and saved figures. It expressly prohibits pornography/NSFW content, violence/gore, hate speech, child sexual abuse material (CSAM), deepfakes/impersonation, and copyright/trademark infringement. Each category is defined separately in that policy. To report suspected violations, follow the user reporting instructions or email support@figran.net.

You must not use the Service to:

  • Violate law or another person's intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or contractual rights.
  • Create or distribute unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, harassing, hateful, exploitative, or malicious content.
  • Submit content you do not have permission to use.
  • Process patient identifiers, passwords, API keys, or regulated or highly sensitive data in a manner not expressly authorized for the Service.
  • Probe, scan, disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or bypass security, access, rate, Credit, or usage controls.
  • Use automated means to scrape, resell, or provide unauthorized access to the Service.
  • Introduce malware or interfere with another user's account, content, or use of the Service.
  • Misrepresent AI-generated material as independently verified scientific evidence or as medical, legal, or financial advice from a qualified professional.
  • Create sexual content involving minors, child exploitation material, or deceptive impersonations and deepfakes of real people.
  • Use automated bulk extraction, model responses, or outputs from the Service to train, fine-tune, distill, or develop a competing AI service without prior written permission, except where applicable law prevents this restriction. This does not prohibit ordinary scientific analysis or publication of your own work.

We may investigate suspected misuse and take proportionate action, including limiting or suspending access.

Credits, Pricing, and Payment

Subscriptions and one-time purchases

Figran offers Free, Pro, Ultimate, and Max plans alongside separate Credit packs. Current prices and included features are shown on Pricing. Prices are in USD unless checkout states otherwise. The checkout shows the payable amount, currency, billing interval, and any applicable taxes before you authorize payment. An annual plan's advertised monthly equivalent is not a monthly payment: the full annual amount is charged at checkout and each annual renewal.

Paid subscriptions renew automatically on the monthly or annual billing cycle you select. By completing a subscription purchase, you authorize recurring charges to your chosen payment method for that plan until you cancel renewal. Each Credit pack purchase authorizes a separate, one-time charge. Credit packs do not renew automatically; Figran does not provide automatic top-ups or automatically convert free access into a paid subscription.

Payments for paid orders are handled through Waffo Pancake and its payment partners. Their checkout terms and privacy notice apply to payment processing. Figran receives order, subscription, refund, and payment-status information needed to provide the Service. We do not receive or store full card numbers or card security codes. The payment seller and statement information shown in checkout and on your receipt identify the transaction.

We will disclose changes to a subscription price before the affected renewal and give you an opportunity to cancel. A price change does not retroactively change a completed purchase or the price of its already-paid period.

Credit allocation, expiry, and use

Subscription Credits are allocated in monthly windows, including on annual plans and existing quarterly subscriptions. Visit the Service to claim the current monthly allowance. Unused monthly Credits expire at the end of that window and do not roll over; missed windows are not backfilled. Buying an annual plan does not make all twelve monthly allocations immediately available.

Credit packs are one-time purchases, valid for six months (180 days) from purchase. Canceling a subscription does not cancel separately purchased Credits or shorten their original expiry. Historical purchases retain their original purchase terms. Free and promotional Credits follow their stated eligibility, refresh, and expiry rules. You can review balances and expiry in Credits.

For operations eligible for all Credit types, the system uses daily Credits first, then registration Credits, then subscription and other eligible grants, and purchased pack Credits last. Within a category, expiring grants are used before non-expiring grants, with earlier expiry taking priority. Some operations require purchased pack Credits; where that restriction applies, only eligible purchased Credits are used. The required Credit amount and access conditions are shown before generation.

While a Credit pack has an unexpired usable balance, it provides access to GPT Image 2, Nano Banana Pro, GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst, GPT Image 2.5 Flare, and Nano Banana 2 without a subscription. Once that balance expires or is exhausted, access follows your subscription. A pack does not grant paid Canvas image-layer or editable PPTX entitlements, unlimited generation, or permanent access to any model.

Credits are service-use units, not money. They cannot be transferred, withdrawn, or redeemed for cash, except through an eligible refund or where required by law. Credit costs depend on the feature, model, and output quality selected and are displayed in the Service.

Upgrading a subscription

Eligible active subscriptions can upgrade immediately to a higher tier with the same billing frequency. The new billing period begins when the paid upgrade is confirmed. We show the old plan's upgrade credit before checkout, and Waffo displays the final amount due and renewal price before payment.

For a monthly plan, the upgrade credit is the lower of (a) the value of the remaining paid time and (b) the value of the unused subscription Credits in the current monthly window. For an annual plan, the second calculation also includes future monthly allowances within the paid year that have not yet become available. Calculations use the amount actually paid, including any valid value transferred from an earlier upgrade, rather than the undiscounted monthly price. Past unused or missed monthly allowances are not credited again. Upgrade credits are applied only to that upgrade; they are not withdrawable cash.

We recheck the quote before opening checkout. Participating subscription Credits are temporarily unavailable during checkout so their value cannot also be spent. Purchased packs and free Credits remain subject to their own eligibility and expiry rules. Confirmed failed or expired checkouts release the hold after payment status is verified; an uncertain payment requires reconciliation. Please let any generation already in progress finish before upgrading.

Only after payment and the upgrade are confirmed do we replace the old subscription, retire its remaining subscription Credits, and issue the new plan's first monthly allowance. Later monthly allowances follow the new billing period. The old and new subscription allowances do not stack. A late generation Credit return associated with an upgrade may require support review instead of an automatic balance restoration.

Canceling a Subscription

To stop renewal online, sign in and open Settings → Billing, choose Cancel subscription for the relevant subscription, and confirm. The page displays the cancellation status and the end of the paid period. If the online flow fails, email support@figran.net from your account email with your subscription or order identifier. Do not send card numbers or passwords.

A confirmed cancellation stops the next renewal; paid access continues until the end of the current paid period. Cancel before the next renewal charge to prevent that charge. Canceling renewal does not refund a charge that has already occurred and does not delete your account, projects, or separately purchased Credits. Account deletion is a separate support request; its data handling is described in our Privacy Policy.

Failed Generations and Refunds

Generation Credit returns

When Figran determines that a generation has failed or timed out, reserved Credits are released back under the Credit ledger's rules. A slow generation that later succeeds is not automatically a failed generation. Returning generation Credits is separate from refunding money paid for a subscription or pack.

Purchase refunds

  • First subscription purchase: request a full refund within 7 calendar days after the first successful charge if no more than 10% of the first monthly Credit allowance from that purchase has been consumed. This applies to either monthly or annual billing, once per customer; it does not create a new guarantee at each renewal or upgrade.
  • Unused Credit pack: request a full refund within 7 calendar days after purchase if none of the Credits from that pack have been consumed. Partly or fully used packs are not covered by this voluntary guarantee.
  • Billing errors: a verified duplicate or incorrect charge is eligible for correction or refund of the erroneous amount.
  • Service failure: contact us if a paid service was not delivered, or an outage attributable to Figran prevents paid use for more than 72 consecutive hours. We will assess the affected period and offer an appropriate refund or service extension; any non-waivable legal remedy remains available.
  • Other purchases: outside these cases, used Credits, elapsed subscription periods, renewal payments, and changes of mind are not ordinarily refundable, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Email support@figran.net with your account email, order identifier, purchase date, and reason. We aim to acknowledge requests within 2 business days and process approved refunds within 5–10 business days through the original payment method. The payment provider or bank may take additional time to show the credit. We will tell you if more information is needed; no password or complete card details are required.

If an earlier payment funded a later upgrade, refund review includes that transfer, and any verified refund also adjusts the affected later subscription allowances. The same payment value cannot be refunded and retained as upgrade credit. Refunds are limited to the money actually charged for the relevant payment; transferred value is not a second cash payment.

When a full or partial refund is processed, the corresponding purchased Credits, subscription allowances, and paid access may be revoked or adjusted in proportion to the refund. Cancel renewal separately if you also want to stop future subscription charges, unless your refund confirmation expressly says that renewal has been canceled.

Nothing in this policy excludes mandatory consumer remedies, payment-dispute rights, or a withdrawal or cooling-off right that applies to you. Where digital-service withdrawal rights can lawfully be waived, any required express request for immediate performance and acknowledgment must be obtained separately; accepting these Terms or merely using Credits is not by itself treated as a blanket waiver.

Billing questions and disputes

Contact support@figran.net if you do not recognize a charge or believe that your order is incorrect. Include the receipt or order identifier so we can investigate. Contacting us first can help resolve an error, but is not a condition for exercising rights through your bank or a consumer-protection authority.

Figran Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, interface, branding, documentation, and original site content, is owned by Figran or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you ownership of the Service or permission to use Figran names, logos, or marks except as needed to identify the Service.

If you provide feedback, you permit us to use it without restriction or compensation, provided we do not publicly identify you as the source without permission.

Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party services, including Kie.ai for image generation, OpenRouter and its routed model providers for text planning, SeeAPI for content checks, Cloudflare for hosting and storage, Resend for email delivery, and Waffo Pancake for payments. Available model families can include those developed by OpenAI, Google, and ByteDance; their availability and terms can change. See our Privacy Policy for data flows and provider notices. Figran is an independent product and, unless we expressly state otherwise, is not affiliated with or endorsed by an underlying model or service provider. We do not control every aspect of those services. Their own terms and policies may apply to your use of their features.

Suspension and Termination

You may stop using Figran at any time. To close your account, email support@figran.net from your registered address. Cancel any active subscription in Billing and export important work before closure. We will verify the request and explain any records that must be retained. Closing or deleting an account is not a separate refund guarantee.

We may suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these Terms, create security or legal risk, fail to pay an amount due, abuse refund or Credit systems, or use the Service in a way that could harm Figran, a provider, or another user. Where reasonably practicable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue.

If we discontinue your paid service or terminate it for reasons other than your breach, we will provide an appropriate refund for the prepaid service we will not deliver, including eligible unused purchased Credits. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

Termination does not erase payment obligations or provisions that by their nature should survive, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute-related terms. Data handling after termination is described in our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." Figran disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and error-free operation.

We do not guarantee scientific correctness, publication acceptance, uninterrupted access, or that generated outputs will meet your requirements. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Figran and its providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, revenue, opportunity, reputation, or research progress arising from the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Figran's aggregate liability for a claim arising from the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to Figran during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD 100. These limits do not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you will defend and indemnify Figran and its providers against third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your User Content, your unlawful or unauthorized use of the Service, or your material violation of these Terms. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim results from Figran's own unlawful conduct.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, providers, risks, or legal requirements. We will post the revised Terms and update the "Last updated" date. For material changes affecting existing users, we will give at least 14 days' advance notice through your registered email or a prominent service notice, unless a shorter period is required by law or necessary to address an urgent security or abuse issue. Changes will state when they take effect; additional consent will be requested where required. Continued use after the effective date of revised Terms means you accept them, except where applicable law requires another form of consent.

General Provisions

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms and the specific purchase terms shown when you order govern your use of the Service, subject to rights that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
